Slate Plugins Are they really that good? Thread starter owenave Start date May 21, I have been reading a lot about the Slate Plugins on the Facebook group for Slate. The mono version will take either stereo or mono but only emit mono signal. I've got the Scheps It comes in two plugins, a mono version that has a single line of dials and a stereo version that has two lines of dials.

If you don't believe me check for yourself. I could be wrong but one thing I do know for a fact is that those drums are most definitely not in mono. It was not in mono I don't own the plug-in so I don't know for sure how the interface works but I'm pretty sure the stereo version is what you see and the one you're thinking of as the stereo version is the dual mono. You heard comparisons? It wasn't the YouTube video where only the mono version of the Scheps was being compared? It's a great piece of modelling. True, that's thunderbolt only though right? My laptop has thunderbolt but my desktop doesn't unless I but the non-existent thunderbolt card for it. Aside from the H-series stuff and a few others they just sound kind of cheap to me. I already have the 88RS which is really great and I'm in no real rush to get the I'd love to get into UAD, but I hate the idea of finding myself on the go without some of my most used plugins because I didn't bring my hardware I don't really understand how so many professionals swear by them. I've been eyeing the Neve for a while now BTW have you seen this? Hmm been reading the UA reviews about the I think I'll probably just wait it out. Hey they're having a 12 Days of UAD sale right now, not sure if you know about it. Right now I'm wishing I could get the consoles, specially the API Vision one, since they're half off but it wouldn't make any sense for me since I just have a SOLO which only lets me load like 2 instances of Vision lol. I'm really hoping there's a good sale for the new SSL G Bus comp because I've been drooling over it since it came out. The UAD plug-ins just nail that "3D" sound that you used to only get from analog gear. I've also heard comparisons of the Scheps 73 and the UAD and the difference is huge. I listened to comparisons of the Waves API vs UAD before I bought it and the Waves version didn't have any of the mojo and width that I was hearing from the yet most people on the videos claimed they couldn't hear a difference. I would say that even the IK Multimedia plugins sound way better than the Waves emulations. The UAD stuff are light years beyond the Waves stuff in terms of sonic quality, especially if you take advantage of the Unison technology in their audio interfaces.
